Storyline

Avril Burke is at her wits end as to what to do with her horse, The Cat. She had hoped to race her but is proving to be something of a dud at the track. She can't sell her for a decent price either, as the horse's reputation is now well known. Things take a change for the better when, strangely, the horse seems to take a liking to Grainne Dooley's new pet goat, a birthday gift, which she has named Daddy G. No one can explain it, but the horse clearly performs better when Daddy G is around. Which of course leads to a bit of skulduggery on the part of some of the locals. Father Sheahan meanwhile faces a dilemma when a man confesses to having beaten a woman, now comatose in hospital. The police suspect the woman's husband of having beaten her and may arrest him. Father Sheahan however cannot reveal anything he's heard in confession. Written by garykmcd
