Ruthless businesswoman and chocolate heiress Martine Drijver, née De Wech, is found in the wood where she was dumped, skull smashed. She's identified by her husband, composer Pepijn Drijver, who admits later he encouraged her, being impotent to to his obsession with creating his operatic masterpiece Hindenburg, to have an affair. But lover Hans Droog, her business partner, is married. She also prepared an insider trading case against former bank colleague Bert Vrisekoop. Her father, Anton de Wech, who adores Pepijn, may have known too much.
