You need friends to rely on.

Mrs Slocombe is left homeless when her new flat has squatters, fortunately Mr Grace comes to the rescue after her colleagues let her down. She takes up residence in the store, but a transport strike leaves her colleagues struggling.

It's as close as we get to a member of staff at home. It's a truly funny episode, with a very cosy vibe. It works so well because we get to see the team interact with one another outside of the working confinement of the store. It's where we see Mrs Slocombe start to develop the boys for Mr Humphries, and we would have a similar offering a few years later with Friends and Neighbours.

The closing scene is side splitting, Mr Humphries leave my pussy alone. They'd never get away with that now.

    A real success. 9/10

    The Apartment

Mrs Slocombe takes up residence on the shop floor, and it's not long before she has the rest of the staff knocking at her temporary door when they can't get home either.

It's a lovely episode, with lots of nice moments. Alfie Bass doesn't get much to do, but the interplay between the characters as ever is good fun.

Perhaps not up there with the quality of the previous S7 episode, but still a very good one.
