    Grounds for Divorce

They were really stretching believability by this point in terms of what would actually happen in a shop, but this remains fun enough.

Not sure how it would all be taken in our PC world, but you can't fault the game performances from the cast, particularly Frank Thornton here.

A standard latter episode of the show overall.

    Grotesque fun.

Captain Peacock is late for work, and his behaviour has the whole team concerned for his state of mind.

For series ten, I thought this one was pretty good, better than the average offering from Series nine, but not a patch on the earlier episodes.

Captain Peacock's scenes with the foxy Miss Bagnold are funny, and his trans formation scene is also very funny. Best scene of all, where Peacock and Rumbold finally fall out on the shop floor, it took many years to come, but eventually did here.

Frank Thornton was very good here, he made the absolutely ridiculous and grotesque almost believable, would he have done this in an earlier episode? No chance.

Diana King was unavailable to play Mrs Peacock, so in stepped Diana Lambert, a very different, more forthright character, but lacked the zany kookiness that King added.

    Not bad overall, 6/10.

Shortly after Captain Peacock arrives near the beginning of the episode, Mr. Harman calls him "colonel" without any reaction from the others.
    • Quotes

Captain Peacock: [purchasing an outfit from the ladies' department] Oh, those suspender belts look rather fun. Yes, I'll take stockings instead of tights.

Miss Brahms: Which one do you want? The white frilly one or the pink frilly one?

Captain Peacock: The *black* frilly one.

Miss Brahms: [holds one up] They're... eh... rather common.

      Captain Peacock: But fun!
