    A Bliss Girl

Another really fun episode of the show, with John Inman as Mr Humprhries on top form.

They really don't make them like this anymore. Sadly.

    Great fun.

The Bliss perfume stand has arrived, but nobody to run in, it leads to a move for Mr Humphries, and an unwanted move more Captain Peacock.

It's a very funny episode with some very memorable scenes. Once again the laughs come from conflict among the team, they all start niggling one another, I loved the scenes where a buoyed Mr Lucas teases Captain Peacock. Best moment of course has to be Mr Humphries dealing with the lady customer, they'd start to dress him up and get him into more outrageous situations from here on in, he was terrifically funny.

I always enjoyed watching Jan Holds whenever she popped up, she was terrific as the affluent, glamorous customer.

    • Trivia
Mr Tebbs does not appear until half-way through this episode. Despite the plot centering on the store's ability to trade due to heavy fog, no explanation is given for his sudden appearance and he only has a few lines before spending the remainder of the episode in the background.
    • Goofs
Jan Holden can be seen waiting at the top of the stairs during the exchange where Young Mr. Grace arranges a date with Mr. Humphries. Her character had left the store and she was doubtless waiting to come back on to pose for the programme's closing credits.
    • Quotes

[summarizing the exchange between Captain Peacock and Mrs. Slocombe]

Mr. Rumbold: Now, let's start again. You put your finger up Mrs. Slocombe's nose, causing her to snort in a sort of "pp-ppbt" fashion.

      [Captain Peacock rolls his eyes]

Mr. Rumbold: Then, logically, she would put up two fingers to protect her nose from your probing digit!

      [Mrs. Slocombe stares blankly]

Mr. Rumbold: This, in turn, Mr. Humphries misinterpreted as a request for him to save her two seats in the canteen.

      [Mr. Humphries frowns in distress]

Mr. Rumbold: Have you anything else written down in your book that you would like me to clarify?

Captain Stephen Peacock: "Not on your nellie."

Mr. Rumbold: Oh well. If that's it, there's no more to be said. Rather a waste of time, really.

Captain Stephen Peacock: Yes indeed, sir.
