This was actually not Barney's first car. In 'The Andy Griffith Show: Runaway Kid (1960), Barney owns a 1949 or 1950 Ford Fordor sedan. Andy and Opie tried to push it in front of a fire hydrant as a joke, but Barney caught them in the act.
