Storyline

When the Governor's chauffeur parks the Governor's car in a No Parking Zone in front of the Post Office, Barney issues a ticket. Actually, he didn't realize it was the Governor's car until well into to the process and he then refused to back down. Mayor Stoner is outraged when he hears what they have done and he insists that Andy call the Governor's office and apologize. The Governor is in fact delighted that someone had the gumption to ticket his car and tells Andy and the Mayor that he will stop by Mayberry that very afternoon to congratulate Barney and shake his hand. Only problem is that no one tells Barney and when he hears the Governor is coming to Mayberry, he assumes the worse and that he's finished. Written by garykmcd

Barney writes a ticket on the governor's car because of the old guys teasing him that he won't. Finds out from the mayor that the governor is coming to Mayberry to see him. Otis comes in drunk & to hide the booze he has dumps it into the water cooler. Barney is upset & start drinking what he thinks is just water & he gets wasted.Andy comes in looking for him & asked Otis have you seen Barney & he points to back room. Andy flips out & takes Barney home for cold showers & pots of coffee to sober him up. Between the two of them they figure out Otis spiked the cooler. They go back to jail & the governor is there & thanks Barney for doing his job.But where's the Mayor? They find him smashed in the back room he had been drinking the water too! Just a funny episode & Mayor Stoner gets his for being so tuff on Andy, since he arrived as new Mayor.
