Andy stops by Peggy's house to pick her up for their date only to find that an old high school friend of hers passing through town, Don, has stopped in to see her. Andy is a bit jealous, and when Peggy suggests that Don come along on their date, Andy refuses and storms out of the house. Barney immediately decides that the best thing for Andy is to get him dating right away and arranges with Thelma Lou for him to meet her friend Lydia Crosswaithe, which turns into a bit of a disaster. He then calls a couple of girls he knows, Skippy and Daphne, and arranges for them to meet, but things go awry when Daphne's boyfriend shows up.
