American John Hudson (as Donald Ainsley Stuart) arrives early for a weekend gathering at the lovely English estate of hostess Rosemary Murphy (as Ellie Pelston). After being shown to his room, Mr. Hudson overhears an argument between a married couple, in the room across the hall. Investigating, Hudson walks in on a man murdering his wife, with a handy fireplace poker. Then, suddenly, the couple disappear!
"You look as if you've seen a ghost," says Ms. Onyx, and she offers him a stiff glass of rum. Hudson drops his drink when the couple he saw arrives for the weekend. They turn out to be a part of the weekend guest list. As Hudson gets to know the quarreling couple, he wonders if the vision he saw could come true It's all rather ordinary for a paranormal show, but Hudson essays the lead character well.
