Flight #093 Is Missing

As a young lad, I saw Airport 77 in the cinemas and there was something similar about the scenes in this episode.

Even more so as I also watched Airplane in the cinema as well. Some of the humour here was unintentional.

Caitlin is heading to Texas reluctantly to attend her sister's wedding. The plane is hijacked and is submerged to the bottom of the sea. A ransom demand is made.

The two ringleaders waiting on the boat for the hijackers to emerge. Then gun them down. They have no intention to let the passengers be free or share the ransom.

Of course Hawke and Santini are to the rescue. Meanwhile Caitlin calms the other passengers. This includes telling a story to a little girl. Calming down an irate passenger.

Surely you cannot be serious. It is pure hokum but entertaining.

Flight 93 was the flight number on one of the planes hijacked 17 years later in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. As took place here, there were 4 hijackers. As another parallel, the 2001 hijackers also ultimately failed to achieve their intended goal.

Goofs
The coordinates reported by Dom are 114 West and 27 North. 114 West and 27 North would return a location over land in Baja California, not over water as was shown.
