Cousin Itt and the voice of Fred Flintstone

The best thing about this episode was an appearance by Alan Reed, as Parks Commissioner Fiske. The introduction of Cousin Itt didn't do much for me. He was all hair. The show, in general, was silly. With this episode, they jumped from Silly to Stupid. The only genuinely funny scene is when Lurch opens the door for Cousin Itt. Lurch, as weird as he is himself, recognizes that Itt is even more weird. This episode also contained too much of Gomez slobbering over Morticia, whenever she said something in French. This became repetitive, and even irritating, when it was shown in almost every episode. Also, why were Wednesday and Pugsley not in the episode? I watched the episode with audio commentary from Lisa Loring and Ken Weatherwax. They talk about so many things, but neither of them comments on the fact that their characters don't appear in the episode. Ultimately, the episode is underwhelming. I was more impressed by Alan Reed's guest appearance than I was by Cousin Itt.

    • Trivia
About Cousin Itt, Morticia says: "Too short to be an actor, too tall to be a producer." Carolyn Jones had just been divorced from Aaron Spelling, a prolific - though rather diminutive - TV producer.
    • Goofs
In the opening shot of Cousin Itt doing his magic act, Felix Silla is not wearing the bottom truss of Itt's hair and his legs are visible.
    • Quotes

Announcer: We interrupt with a special announcement: An hour ago a dangerous creature broke out of the city zoo. When last seen, the monster was heading for the Greenbrier-Woodlawn area.

      Morticia Addams: That's us again.

Lurch: Shall I bolt the windows and doors?

Gomez Addams: Nonsense. It's probably another relative.
