- Penhall works a Major Crimes case with his new partner Fitzgerald. The case involves allegations of child abuse against a public figure.
- Penhall is assigned to Major Crimes and he works a child abuse case wherein the mother of a girl accuses her husband of molesting their daughter. Penhall publicly arrests the man and accuses him of molesting his daughter. He'is trying to get him to admit he abused his daughter but his partner figures out that the mother placed words in her daughter's mouth. Penhall then finds himself ostracized In the unit. - After busting a hitman, Penhall (Peter DeLuise) and his new partner Fitzgerald (Peri Gilpin) are promoted to the major crimes division. Their first case involves a mother in a custody battle accusing her sports writer husband of molesting their young daughter. Penhall almost wrings a confession from the falsely accused man and, feeling guilty about the mistake he has made, must then find a way to help the man overcome the devastation of the false charge.
Meanwhile Hanson (Johnny Depp) starts going out with Jackie Garrett (Yvette Nipar) a deputy District Attorney after first being set up with her on a blind date which ends badly and then rescuing her from another bad blind date when he runs into her in a bowling alley.
This episode ends with Doug deciding he wants to come back to Jump Street again because helping kids is what he does best.
