Storyline

Pelle's brother has been missing for a month when a mysterious phone call tells him to watch the top rated reality show, Public Enemy Number One. It's a nasty piece of work where contestants tape their murders and battle it out to be the top killer for that year. When Pelle sees the episode in question he realizes the brutal chainsaw murder was filmed in his brother's apartment. Going there, he searches to find out if the footage is real. Little does he know that he's stepped into ground zero for a pitched battle of famous past Public Enemies and those who would take their place. Written by Anonymous

Trivia

After principal photography was completed in late 2005 Cain decided he wanted more action sequences. It was his relationship with fellow director Jeff Leroy that helped him to achieve that goal. Leroy, known for his miniature effects, built a replica of the Los Angeles location and then blew it up. The most expensive scene in the movie not only included the pyrotechnics to match up the miniature explosions with the real location, but scores of extras dressed up as policemen, firefighters and sign wielding fans of the movie's protagonist, The Shaver. Full of Twists and Turns!

I was fortunate enough to see the film when it played at the Sunset 5 at midnight. It's played in my mind over the past couple of months. Very strong visual style and lots of amazing sequences.

Overall I really enjoyed the movie although there were moments where it kind of slowed down towards the middle, but really picked up at the 3/4 mark. I was totally surprised and didn't see coming what was going to happen. For being a lower budgeted movie the filmmakers really did a lot! I can't wait to see it on DVD and pick up what I missed the first time.

My favorite part was the segments of the Public Enemy TV show & all the dark humor towards reality television. I wouldn't be surprised that some day we see something like the Public Enemy thing on the boob tube.
