Featured review
This is the longer of the two documentaries on the DVD of The Amityville Horror from 2005, with a running time of 26 and a half minutes. It consists of interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and clips of the film(that it spoils, note that), being essentially a making-of. They go over various things they did(not many that I can refer to directly, but rest assured that they delve into the major sequences and sets, albeit they don't cover any pre- or post-production), we hear a bit about the kids(seeing Jodie dance makes her less creepy, though) including from their own mouths(*man* was Moretz a girl back then, wait 'til you hear about the Acorn club... I can't tell you about it myself, the first two rules tell me not to), and I personally loved seeing Rachel in this. There is a bit of the obligatory love-fest about the director(and they only briefly touch upon the fact that it is his first movie, and of course don't show examples of earlier work or discuss his style)... well, at least they do present arguments for it(he's good with actors, apparently... and extremely nice(take one guess if that last one was said by an adult or a child)). There is disturbing, violent and bloody content in this. I recommend this to those who enjoyed the flick itself. 6/10
