Seol-Hee's South Korean village is forced to serve the occupying North Korean regiment during the Korean War. The story focuses on the complex relationship between Seol-Hee and the North Korean Lieutenant, Kim Jeong-woong.
Kim Hong-Joo (Kim Min-Jun) is a detective in the homicide unit. His team has a miserable record in solving cases and are badly behind in their arrest quota. Things look more promising when Detective Kim learns of an impending drug deal by low level drug dealer. Things quickly heat up when the low level dealer tips them off on a much bigger fish.
Kim Hong-joo is the leader of a police squad that is having a lot of problems to fulfill their arrest quota. One day, thanks to his intuition he arrest a low class drug dealer who in order to get a lower sentence, lead them to a big crime organization.
Though the film starts fine, soon shows one of it's defect, the rhythm less. The other main defect is the running time, the film doesn't tell so many things to fill almost two hours at a good level, though this problem is becoming more and more common in the korean films. The movie can be also quite predictable because is a story that has been told before a lot of times.
If one of your reasons to see the film is the main actor, Min-jun Kim, i highly recommend to see "No mercy for the rude" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0856052/ instead of Never to lose.
