Great story, poorly done...
20 March 2021 | by LiveLoveLeadSee all my reviews

This movie "based on a true story" could have been so much better. Mickey is a bitter teen. His dad ran off, his younger brother Roger suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, and his mom moved them from their home and grandfather in Pittsburg to California. So, Mickey and Roger decide to travel from California back to Pittsburg to see their favorite baseball player, Roberto Clemente, break a record of his 3000th hit. They have an adventure, some brotherly bonding, and meet several characters along the way (you'll see some familiar character actors in bit parts) The problem is the writing and acting are not good. The characters mumble a lot which doesn't help the already poor script. Although there are touching moments, the movie plods along where it should have had some tension and excitement and just falls short of what it could have been IMHO! 3/2020
