Best mix of old and new
12 June 2009 | by ebiros2See all my reviews

If there was a kung-fu action movie that brought best elements from everywhere including actors of old and new, settings of old and new, cinematography of old and new this one is it !

The way the actions are framed, and the way the actors play their role is superb in this movie. This movie also sees the younger Gen Y-Not actors (those who were born after 1980) coming of age, and their martial arts skills are fresh and different from the ones performed by the old guards of kung-fu cinema.

Actually I've never seen a movie that has scenes like this one. It's little bit surreal and has a wide open feel to it which made me like this movie even more. I hope HK cinema will continue with this type of experimentation in its visual dynamics.

Future is bright for HK cinema if they can continue to come up with movies like this one.
