When it travels at the speed of light, the power of the sun's rays can play tricks with the eyes and brain and then we can live a story that may be real or not real. It's the game the speed of light is playing.

Thomas (15) and Vincent (13) are two brothers. One day they decide to run away from a broken home. They land on a small island off the South Coast of England to escape their current reality. On the island they discover a huge, derelict and abandoned warehouse and they are on their way to explore it with only a lighter. G1 is a small time crook, who lives inside a washroom in the abandoned warehouse. G1 believes that he has a girlfriend and dreams of her. Jenia is a young girl, 22, mean and vulgar. She has spent most of her life inside a housing estate. G1 often dreams about his girlfriend and some of his dreams occurring at the speed of light cross the boundaries between dream and reality. One such moment is an intimate sex scene between the two protagonists that may or may not have been real. The two brothers arrive in the warehouse one fine day in the summer and remain there until the early hours of the next day. Exhausted after a long, frantic and scary search for some adventure ... Did You Know?

The film was first released in 2007 in theaters then banned before the first showing could take place for not obtaining a special rating for the rape scene then released on DVD in the U.S. and the UK with the ratings R and 18. The infamous scene was ripped and uploaded on X rated sites by some viewers and then went on to reach a phenomenal amount of views. The upload on YouTube was removed by YouTube but with the blessing of the director. A new version has been made available in 2010 for download with a yellow moving prism of light running throughout the film to somehow blur some of the scenes and although this version was deemed respectable to be downloadable, some people described it as reeking in urine. In the HD 2016 release the whole presentation was through a binocular scope effect displaying the film within a circle with a black background around.

As the 2020 years' market seems to have re-opened its doors for DVDs, the full version of the film without anything recovering the scenes will be available on 4K along with the full two hours making of comedy with interviews with all the actors and producers. See more »

G1: [Banging at the door] Wake up!
G1: What about the kids?
G2: What fucking kids?
G1: Them lot by the sink!
G2: There isn't anyone there. There is never anyone in here.
G1: They are bloody here!
G2: I'm off G, I'm out of here brov'!

Stuart Mansell is one the finest actors of his generation
26 March 2009 | by nick7722See all my reviews

Rarely have I seen such a gifted actor.

Stuart Mansell is so deeply absorbed into his character that we might believe that he is like that in real life.

When he played a TV game show host in "The Complete Map of the Universe" and the TV show "EST" we can see that he is a completely different person.

Different voice, accent, look.

Everything is different.

Most actors are just playing "themselves", Stuart Mansell is not.

He is also extremely sexy and that helps.

I have never seen someone who can play such a drug crazy character the way he does.

From completely demented to desperate.

Stuart Mansell is one of the finest actors of his generation.
