Negi Springfield is only 10 years old, but he is trying to become a wizard(Magister Magi) but he was sent to Japan for training, despite the protests from his sister. The principal, who was a friend of his grandfather, assigned him to be the homeroom teacher and English instructor of middle school which is an all girls school. And the class is full of girls, with "special" characteristics, like one being a vampire, another a ghost, another a robot, and others being athletes and bookworms. Negi puts a lot of good will towards everyone and works hard to teach them, and even though most of the girls are very friendly with him, they see him more as a kid to have fun with instead of a respectful instructor, except a few of them, that hate the concept of him being a teacher, one of them is an anti-social computer nerd and the other is a hard worker who had a crush on the previous teacher, and to make matters worse, she found out about Negi, and his magic. Think of it as a Harry Potter meets... Written by Anonymous

Did You Know?

Negi's name is actually a pun. In Japanese, Negi means scallion, or green onions or Welsh onions, and are also in the same family as leek, which is a national symbol of Wales, where Negi comes from. Many of his students address him using the playful "-bozu" honorific, which means something along the lines of "kiddo" or "squirt", but "negibozu" ("onion head") is also a slang term meaning a callow or inexperienced youth. Ayaka Yukihiro: Even though he is a child prodigy, Mr. Negi is still a kid. To raise him daily, a more motherly, enveloping woman is needed. Yes, for example, a proportionally perfect woman like me!
Saotome Haruna: [to Nodoka] But I have bigger breasts, right?
Ayase Yue: How can you say that having bigger breasts is motherly?
Saotome Haruna: Well, then it's decided that he'll be in our room!
Ayaka Yukihiro: Hey, not so fast! If it's just size, I'm not number one?
Negi Springfield: Am I getting my room changed?
Asuna Kagurazaka: Maybe. Well, it's good for me though.
Negi Springfield: But...
Ayaka Yukihiro: More importantly, in differences...

Really fun to watch
18 October 2008 | by Tenchi64589See all my reviews

As many people know, I'm a HUGE anime fan, and I especially have a thing for harem anime like this.

In any case, the story does it's job well: advancing the story while simultaneously providing some (very excellent) fan service here and there.

The aspect of forbidden love was also a major factor in why this show has the audience it does. Everybody loves that classic angle... and if not, there's something seriously wrong with you.

It also helps that Negi and his students have such distinct personalities; from Nodoka's quiet and shy nature to the child-like spunkiness of the Narutaki Twins, Fuka and Fumika.

This is sure to be a pleaser to many an anime fan! 10/10
