Storyline

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 1984: When Jesse Was Born is the story of a blue-collar family as they welcome their third son into their chaotic world. Stuggling through life, Harold Ferrell engages in criminal activity to provide for his family, while fourteen-year-old Danny, a gentle boy in love for the first time, tentatively negotiates his conflicting needs to please his father and to challenge his destructive patterns. Harold's criminal behavior is motivated by the best of intentions, he can't escape the disturbing consequences of his actions.
