Locked Down Trailer Has Anne Hathaway & Chiwetel Ejiofor Pulling a Quarantine Heist on HBO Max
HBO Max has released the first trailer for Locked Down. This is one of several Hollywood projects that, against all odds, managed to film during quarantine. Director Doug Liman is at the helm of the heist thriller, with a cast led by Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor. As the trailer reveals, the movie makes use of the times we live in by cooking up a crime that could only take place while the world is on lockdown.

The trailer opens with Chiwetel Ejiofor's Paxton having a video chat with some friends. He is on lockdown with his significant other, Linda, played by Anne Hathaway. But there is trouble in paradise. As things go from bad to worse, the feuding couple hatches an ambitious plan to steal an incredibly valuable diamond while the world is otherwise preoccupied. Despite mirroring the dire circumstances many of us are currently dealing with, the trailer

Adam Sandler Reportedly Eyed For New Night At The Museum Movie

Adam Sandler Reportedly Eyed For New Night At The Museum Movie
Believe it or not, the Night at the Museum franchise was a multi-billion dollar property for Fox, with the three installments in the family fantasy series raking in over $1.3 billion at the box office and generating close to $250 million from DVD sales in the United States alone, despite the fact that the entire trilogy was painfully average.

Shawn Levy has been the go-to guy for studios looking to craft formulaic and inoffensive four-quadrant PG blockbusters for a while now, and the filmmaker was certainly safely within his wheelhouse. Ben Stiller starred as a nightwatchman at the American Museum of Natural History who discovers that the exhibits come to life, and the basic premise had been stretched out pretty thin by the time Secret of the Tomb drew to a close back in 2014.

The rights are now in the hands of Disney following their takeover of Fox, and insider Daniel Richtman

Hulu New Releases: January 2021

Hulu New Releases: January 2021
A new year means a new start. But in its list of new year releases for January 2021, Hulu is sending a message of…eh, we’ll get the year started in February. Not to be overly rude to the usually sturdy streaming service, but there’s not much going on for Hulu in 2021’s first month.

Perhaps the biggest release of note is something that already enjoyed a successful release for ITV in the U.K. The Sister is the lates thriller from Neil Cross (Luther) and it makes its U.S. debut on Hulu on Jan. 22. 2020 comedies Save Yourselves and Like a Boss both arrive on Jan. 1. Hulu original film The Ultimate Playlist of Noise premieres on Jan. 15 and TV series Everyone is Doing Great arrives on Jan. 13.

Thankfully Hulu’s library titles are a bit livelier this month. Jan. 1 sees the arrival of Blade Runner: The Final Cut,

Hulu Announces Over 150 New Movies/TV Shows For January

Hulu Announces Over 150 New Movies/TV Shows For January
Hulu is kicking off the new year in style next month, with January set to deliver a ton of fresh titles to the Disney-owned streaming service. There’s a bunch of original content landing throughout the first few weeks of 2021, but probably the highlight is the incredible number of classic movies that are going up on the site on New Year’s Day. Whether you’re in the mood for iconic comedies, dramas, animated efforts or sci-fi flicks, there’s something for you on the way.

There are well over 100 films being added to Hulu’s library on January 1st, so let’s just pick out a few notable titles. The full Austin Powers trilogy is among them, and if you can’t get enough of Mike Myers, the first Shrek likewise becomes available. For dramas, there’s Robert Downey Jr. biopic Chaplin, Johnny Depp vehicle Donnie Brasco and Jim Carrey’s The Truman Show.

Shawn Levy And His 21 Laps Sign Overall Netflix Film Deal And Expand TV Pact In Nine-Figure Tie-Up

Shawn Levy And His 21 Laps Sign Overall Netflix Film Deal And Expand TV Pact In Nine-Figure Tie-Up
After spending more then a decade calling 20th Century Fox home, Shawn Levy and his 21 Laps production banner have found a new home. Sources tell Deadline that, after considering several offers, Levy and 21 Laps Entertainment has signed a first-look deal for features with Netflix as well as extending his current TV overall deal. 21 Laps is run by Levy and partners Dan Levine and Dan Cohen, as well as the President of 21 Laps Television Josh Barry.

Sources say the deal is a five-year first look for film and exclusive for TV and was in the nine-figure range.

Insiders say the deal is not only well earned but also rare, and rivals J.J. Abrams’ recent deal with WarnerMedia given that non-writing producers, which Levy is on for shows like Stranger Things, don’t typically get these deals. The exceptions have been the Obamas and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,

Night at the Museum 4 Will Be an Animated Movie For Disney Plus
It’s a bit odd how the third Night at the Museum movie was supposed to be a way to say goodbye to the franchise, but seeing as how Hollywood thrives on reviving old ideas and trying to cash in on them it’s not hard to see how a fourth movie could come about, with animation at least. Robin Williams’ unfortunate passing has put a huge damper on the idea of making a live-action movie since there was really no one that could be brought in to replace the legendary comedian, but with animation, it feels likely that an attempt can

‘Free Guy’ Trailer: Ryan Reynolds Action Comedy Videogame Movie Is Probably Coming Out In December. Maybe…
Video games are littered with drones, mindless characters in the background known as NPCs, a non-player character. But what if one of those NPCs gained agency all of a sudden, had a voice, and became free of the constraints and limitations of background slavery? That’s the premise, essentially of “Free Guy,” a new high-concept, hi-tech science-fiction action-comedy from director Shawn Levy starring Ryan Reynolds.

‘Free Guy’ Trailer: Ryan Reynolds Delivers One of the Last Remaining Action Tentpoles of 2020
As major theatrical films scheduled for the coming months continue to be pushed to future dates, the upcoming sci-fi action comedy “Free Guy” remains dated for December 11. 20th Century Studios’ movie stars Ryan Reynolds as a video game character who, after becoming self-aware, rejects his role as a non-playable character and begins acting as the game’s hero.

The official synopsis for the movie reads: “In the open world video game ‘Free City,’ an amalgamation of Grand Theft Auto and Fortnite, Guy (Reynolds) is a non-player character (Npc) working as a bank teller. Thanks to a code developed by programmers Milly (Comer) and Keys (Keery) inserted into Free City by the publisher Antoine (Waititi), Guy becomes aware of his world being a video game, and takes steps to make himself the hero, creating a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down.”

A Forgotten Hugh Jackman Film Has Been Dominating Netflix All Week

A Forgotten Hugh Jackman Film Has Been Dominating Netflix All Week
Netflix has been gaining something of a reputation recently as a place where overlooked, underrated or forgotten movies find a fresh lease of life and gain a whole new audience. Over the last few months, a raft of surprising titles have dominated the streaming service’s Top 10 most-watched list, proving that you can never truly guess what subscribers are in the mood for on any given day.

Enola Holmes may be capturing the imagination as it continues to break records, and could very well be set to dethrone Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction as Netflix’s most popular original movie ever, but Hugh Jackman’s Real Steel has also been quietly posting a strong showing ever since it was added to the content library last week.

Real Steel looked like it had built-in franchise potential when it first hit theaters back in 2011, and while a box office haul of $299 million is hardly a disaster,
