On September 11, 2001, two American Airlines and two United Airlines domestic U.S. flights are hijacked by terrorists. After the collision of two planes against the World Trade Center and one against the Pentagon, the passengers and crew of United Flight 93 decide to struggle against the four terrorists to take back the control of the airplane.

At one point in the film Ziad Jarrah mentions the brothers have hit both targets which is obviously the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre. The 'brothers' Ziad was referring to were Mohammed Atta and Marwan Al Sherhi who along with Jarrah were members of the infamous Hamburg Cell. All three men were close friends and were also part of Al Qaeda. See more
