Everyone comes to this city to escape their problems, but where is he to go when his problems lie in the very city that people go to forget theirs. Devlin has blamed everyone for his current way of life; the city, the tourists, his Mother, his Father, and his friends. Streets of Wonderland Review
17 August 2005 | by ckzeroSee all my reviews

I was a judge at Microcinema Fest just outside of Chicago this year and was privileged to watch the U.S. debut of this movie. Shot on a shoestring budget of $7,000cdn all of which was from directors Carey Lewis maxed out credit cards. The movie was awesome. Well written and very very well acted especially from lead actor Ryan DiFrancesco.

The film shows a much darker and seedy Niagra Falls. A place where you normally would associate with honeymoons and tourist attractions has a very real and darker side. A side of Niagra that few know about unless you live there. A town that only employs seasonally and has a very high unemployment and poverty rate, locals will do just about anything to survive, that includes robbing, steal, and hurting tourists.

Streets of Wonderland is a dramatic story of a few of these locals based on fact. I'll leave it at that and hope the film hits an indie art house theaters and DVD really soon.
