In this midquel to The Fox and the Hound (1981), Copper the hound dog, here still just a pup, joins a canine music band, and spends less and less time with his best friend Todd the fox. Is their friendship in danger?
The kingdom of Atlantica where music is forbidden, the youngest daughter of King Triton, named Ariel, discovers her love to an underground music club and sets off to a daring adventure to bring restoration of music back to Atlantica.
Samuel E. Wright,
In this cheap, unnecessary sequel of the original Fox and the Hound, Tod and Copper are drawn toward a local carnival. Among these attractions is a group of singing dogs, who hope one day make it to the Grand Ol' Opry. Along the way, Tod and Coppers' friendship is starting to get questioned because they're spending so much time away from each other. Hopefully, they'll make amends before going through this phase a second time.
I know the animation better than many other Disney sequels, but that just adds to the insult of this pointless cashgrab.
I really don't see anything in this. I refuse to believe that the fox and the hound are the same characters. They must be completely different animals which just happens to look exactly like them.
There was a period of Separation in the original and not them joining a stupid band of dogs singing country music. God, this is stupid! Of all the Disney movies that did not need a midquel this is one of them, and worst of all it makes no sense and do not tie into the original story AT ALL!
As much as I absolutely despise Belle's Magical World it at the very least ties into the time when Belle was held in Beast's castle (even though I still refuse to acknowledge them as Belle and Beast), but The Fox & The Hound 2 is just a completely different movie with no reason to exist other than being a cashgrab.
