Reverie Season 1 Episode 1 Review: Going Down the Rabbit Hole

Let's call this Touched by a Vr Angel.

A former police negotiator chooses to bring people back to reality on Reverie Season 1 Episode 1.

And maybe, just maybe, she can heal herself as well.

This new drama offers the none-too-subtle message of "Get off your phones and take in the world around you."

Wait a sec. I got a text.

Where was I?

Oh, yeah. Reality: let's embrace it.

I suppose, if you're going to have somebody yank you out of paradise, granted for your own good, why not have it be Sarah Shahi?

It's good to have Shahi back in a starring role on TV. It's been far too long since Person of Interest left the air. (I know. Only two years. It just seems longer.)

She returns on another series that's dealing with cutting-edge technology. Shaw's tactics aren't going to work here,

Checco Varese Becomes Go-to Cinematographer for Launching TV Shows
Shooting TV pilots isn’t for everyone. They require extensive prep work and the ability to think on one’s feet. But those are the kinds of things at which Checco Varese has become expert.

After starting as a camera assistant for National Geographic Films in Peru and getting a couple of dozen NatGeo documentaries under his belt, he became a news cameraman for NBC, CNN and BBC. For 14 years he filmed in war-torn areas under sensitive circumstances — an occupation that required him to be a fixer as well as a gatherer of images. He would drop into a location

NCIS: Los Angeles Season Finale Review: Ninguna Salida

That didn't wrap up much of anything, did it?

After creating chaos on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9 Episode 23, Mosley got her son back on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9 Episode 24.

But at what cost?

I guess we'll be waiting until next fall to find out the answer to that question.

Maybe this will finally get Mosley reassigned. Five agents missing and assumed dead on an off-the-books operation has got to be a career ender, at the very least.

So, let's look at all the missteps that led to that ending.

Hollywood Foreign Press’ Philanthropy Runs Both Broad and Deep

In the course of Meryl Streep’s much lauded state of the artistic union remarks at January’s Golden Globes ceremony, the screen legend made a pointed reference to her hosts, requesting “the famously well-heeled Hollywood Foreign Press, and all of us in our community, to join me in supporting the Committee to Protect Journalists. Because we’re going to need them going forward, and they’ll need us to safeguard the truth.”

Drawn to the Cpj website’s grim record of Fifth Estate members killed or missing, Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. president Meher Tatna says she “connected back to Meryl’s speech and I thought, this is a no-brainer. … It’s horrifying, in this day and age, what they have to go through to get the story.”

The proposal of a $200,000 grant to Cpj was unanimously approved by her board.

Yet this was no bequest in isolation. Even as the HFPA celebrates its 75th year, many
