(at around 6 mins) When Victor and Logan are fighting in the Vietnam War (during the opening credits sequence), Victor ends up getting in a fight with American soldiers many of whom are carrying M-16 rifles with a 20" barrel and full barrel guard as well as a period correct non adjustable butt-stock. However when we see Logan running to help Victor, he is carrying a modern AR-15 style carbine rifle with an adjustable butt-stock and smaller 18" barrel with a round barrel guard which wasn't around during the Vietnam War era. German theatrical version was cut by the distributor before submission to the FSK to secure a "Not under 16" rating (the killing of the old couple is shortened, you don't see Wolverine igniting the gasoline). Ironically, the uncut version, submitted for the home video release, was rated "Not under 16" as well, thus rendering the cut theatrical version completely unnecessary. See more »
Forget the reviews that focus on dialogue (it's a comic book character, of course it's clichéd) or other types of thing you may look for in movies like a Room With A View. In this movie you want to see cool action, cool use of superpowers, great fights with CGI that is not obvious and some tension about what happens next. This movie has it all. Academy awards? No. Amazing plot? No, but enough to keep it very interesting, with answers like where Adamantium comes from, Sabretooth and Wolverine relationship, introduction of Deadpool, early view of Cyclops, and much more that keeps the movie going along just fine. This is a solid action film, better than most.
