This week, the gods of the interwebs granted us a look at two dichotomous trailers for a pair of blockbuster comic book films soon to be hitting the mega-multi-plexes. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Justice League gave us somewhere around four-minutes total of titillating three-dimensional text, brief respites of prose, and the best action snippets CG could render. But beyond those stark generalities comes two massive worlds apart.

This should come as no surprise to any of us. Spider-Man is packed with wit, charm, and street-level action amidst the hints at bigger set pieces. Justice League is a dark and sordid affair – not without its own charm and wit, but punctuated with the Synder-trademarked sepia-hued gravitas and angst. At this point, would it be enough to say I was ear-to-ear smiles at one trailer… and terribly nervous about the other?

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a global box office sensation. The fairy tale remake debuted to a majestic $350 million worldwide during its first weekend in theaters.

The live action update of the 1991 animated classic scored the second biggest March debut on a global basis, coming in behind “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s” $424.1 million launch.

“Beauty and the Beast” earned $180 million internationally and an additional $170 million at the domestic box office, a sterling result for the $160 million-budgetted film. In a sign of its popularity, “Beauty and the Beast” topped the box office in nearly every market where it screened. The fairy tale romance earned $44.8 million in China, grossed $22.8 million in the United Kingdom, grabbed $11.9 million in South Korea, nabbed $10.7 million in Germany, and picked up $7.6 million in Italy. “Beauty and the Beast” even performed well in Russia, where its opening was overshadowed by controversy surrounding the inclusion of a gay character.

Surrounded by a floor covered with pizzas boxes, the interviewer began the chat by asking Watson if she would recommend kidnapping as a dating strategy, since the Beast kidnaps Belle and she then falls in love with him in the film.

There is a stark sensuality and fascination in some of the bleakest situations; an eros to go with the thanatos. But the recently discovered screenplay Sixty-Four Minutes With Rebecka – which Bergman evidently intended to retitle The White Wall and make as an English-language movie, forming his part of a tripartite collaboration with Federico Fellini and Akira Kurosawa – really is notably sexy, even if the sexiness is coloured by his distinctive anxiety, self-inspection, self-reproach, and intimate marital anguish. The late Ingmar Bergman is best known for films such as “Fanny and Alexander,” “Smiles Of A Summer Night” and “Wild Strawberries,” among many others. With a career spanning over 60 years, he’s recognized as one of the most accomplished and influential auteurs of all time.

Many cinephiles know about his work and films, but there’s one in particular that was unknown to many, until now.

According to Reuters, a previously unknown script written by Bergman for a collaboration with Akira Kurosawa and Federico Fellini, titled “Sixty-Four Minutes With Rebecka,” will be turned into a movie by Swedish director Suzanne Osten.

Kennedy. It’s Johnson’s first time entering the room as president. The scene is silent. For a full minute, it’s just Cranston, a camera, and some music. First of all, we were set for another few hours of Vince McMahon. Who doesn’t want that, right?

The Chairman of the Board returned last week to call out Roman Reigns, but ended up getting himself arrested after putting his hands on an officer. Then we saw some terrible acting from Stephanie McMahon that I haven’t yet recovered from, before the Vin man secured his bail from jail.

He returned to the arena at the end of the night to announce that Sheamus would be challenging for Reigns’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship on this week’s episode – with McMahon himself stepping in as guest referee.

I’m praying he turns up in sleeveless Attitude Era referee McMahon used to…
