Storyline

Our lives are filled with joy and sorrow, challenges and change - all linked to growing up and growing old. Is the inevitable conclusion to life's exciting journey the termination of the human spirit and a plot in the local cemetery? Or is there something beyond this life - a spiritual realm of some kind where the soul resides when we lay this body down? Is there really a place called Heaven? The major religions answer "yes" and accept this as a matter of faith. What if there is proof beyond faith that Heaven exists? Do scientific discoveries and cutting edge research actually prove the existence of Heaven? Some believe there is now proof that the place we call " Heaven" actually exists. We'll examine scientific studies, personal testimonies and experiences of those who say they've had a Near Death Experience in which they've been to Heaven and back. Join us in a serious look at startling new findings that document a place called Heaven! Written by Grizzly Adams Family Entertainment

Asks The Question - then gives us standard Christian answer
14 December 2005 | by jscanlanSee all my reviews

This is a rehash of dramatized anecdotal "near death" stories. It has a brief flirt with pan-religious sensibilities with actual quotes from other spiritual texts. And an attempt at "being scientific", by saying that science is rigorous and must have reproducible results, and then dressing up the video with a lot of Science-drag (images that supposedly convey that the video is "being scientific") without really giving any proofs or research data. This "even handedness" is later contradicted by the inclusion of examples of "Scientific Authorities" being proved wrong about a number of pronouncements.

It has a very strong Intelligent Design component, with the usual cast of big names who are quoted for their "support", and the multitude of faith based thinkers who make various "learned pronouncements", some of the ones on the extras are pretty far out.

I am disappointed that this was almost purely a Christian faith based Intelligent Design propaganda piece and not a real discussion of what may be the biggest mystery in existence.
