    • Trivia
The film's theatrical trailer features stock footage from the original Japanese version of it, also named Pulse (2001). One scene in particular features a plane crash. The scene was re-done for this Americanized remake.
    • Goofs
The film is supposedly set in Ohio; however, the telephone area code (818) for the rental office of Josh's now-vacant apartment is actually for the San Fernando Valley, California area (and the surrounding areas). Furthermore, Ziegler's Columbus Zip Code should be 43201 (not the made-up 41273) and 7th Avenue street numbers only go as high as the 3600s (not 13124), plus the actual street is not full of multi-storied apartment buildings designed in the Eastern Bloc brutalist architectural style. Dexter's Weymouth Drive street address (from his bounced check) is fictitious, but its Zip Code (44101) is an actual one in Cleveland, Ohio.

Mattie Webber: Just like Josh said, he pulled something through...

Dexter McCarthy: Pulled ghosts through the Wi-Fi? It just doesn't make any sense.

Thin Bookish Guy: [adding to their conversation] It makes all the sense in the world. Do you have any idea of the amount of data that's floating out there? The amount of information we just beam into the air? We broadcast to everyone where we are, and we think we're safe? The whole freakin' city is going insane, and we're acting like it's nothing. Well, it's not nothing. It's something we don't understand, and it is coming for us.

Goth Girl: You're freaking us out, man.

Thin Bookish Guy: It's the end of the world. That's what it is.

Goth Girl: Maybe it's the booze in your coffee.

If You Have Nothing Better To Do
We just came home from seeing Pulse. Sorry friends, this is one film you won't be sorry you missed. Slow, boring, and lots of loose ends. No thrills, chills or characters you can care about. You are presented with a group of close friends -- yet no one seems concerned or even to notice that one of their buddies hasn't been around, anywhere, for a few days. No one seems to care when his fate is discovered. For some reason, all the college students seem to reside in apartments with black walls and leave food scattered all over the place to rot. I'm guessing the props dept had a lot of bugs around and wanted to use them up. Better to wait until this film shows up on cable at 3 am and you have nothing better to do before you watch this one.
