Storyline

Finch and Root are on a mission to save the Machine, after she gave herself up to Samaritan on her own volition to save Root and more specifically Finch. As Samaritan tries to complete its own mission in destroying the Machine while making what it sees as necessary corrections to the world order, Finch and Root have the difficult task of locating the Machine, who has been silent of late. When Finch and Root do hear from the Machine again, she sends them on a scavenger hunt without them knowing what all the pieces are supposed to accomplish. Finch and Root are without Reese who too has been silent. Finch has another difficult choice to make when he does eventually get an indirect message from Reese. Little do Finch and Root know that there is someone else who is trying to destroy Samaritan, albeit working on a different motive. Meanwhile, Dominic is holding Elias, Reese and Fusco hostage as he tries to negotiate the same deal Elias seemed to have with Reese, Finch and Fusco. Some may ... Written by Huggo

Trivia

The title refers to God's name, written with the Hebrew characters known as the Tetragrammaton, and appears almost 7,000 times in the Old Testament. In Hebrew it is normal to write only consonants, but because of the Commandment against using God's name in vain, correct pronunciation of the name is lost. Name YHWH is preserved in texts but sometimes has added vowel marks from word Adonai, indicating that instead of YHWH one should read Adonai (Lord). English Bibles usually translate it as "Lord of Hosts," or simply as "Lord." One plausible version of OT God's name might be "Yahweh," although some use "Jehovah" instead; that stems from erroneous reading of YHWH with vowels of Adonai. See more »

Rise of the Machines
5 May 2015 | by jayant-1212See all my reviews

Finally the payoff of this season. The disappeared god, the new ruthless god, the crime bosses and the action; everything was just plain awesome.

Finally the machines collide, finally the fight is all naked and the dread of previous episode reaches a fever that is simply impossible to take off.

The last 10 mins sums up everything season 4 wanted to tell. People lost their ways, machines lost their ways and did mundane things all over season but this one was a home run.

Last season finale, the machine was defeated and Elias had no place to perform in season 4. But this season has balanced all expectations.

This was marvelous, story telling at best and the AI mythology getting deeper. More confrontations, dangerous consequences and the fight of team machine and team samaritan will continue

The series will forever excite me and fans alike. Waiting for season 5 now
