They Probably Spent Most Of Their Budget On Hats

Alice Ardell and Lew Sargent want to get married, but her father objects, wrecking a series of straw hats, with more in the room behind, so they elope with Bud Jamison driving off the Pacific Coast Highway.

Miss Ardell -Mlle. Ardell, actually, since she was French and spoke no English - starred in a series of short comedies for Joe Rock. She was cute, but had no comic skills, so Rock paired her with a different comic in every movie. The effect was usually very good.

It's probably very good here, judging by what survives. It's basically the second reel of a two-reel comedy, and there are some good gags here.

Although the IMDb credits Pembroke as the director, it's in some doubt.
