Storyline

JoJo, a Filipino-American, poseur gangsta-pimp, thinks he hears his call to the streets and carjacks Vance, a mysterious traveling perfume salesman who fancies cowboy hats. In tow is Devaun, JoJo's best friend, who tries desperately to protect Vance from JoJo, and JoJo from the law. But no one is safe from JoJo's impulses, as the motley trio hits the road to Nashville, and slowly succumb to an escapist adventure that takes them further away from JoJo's reality, but closer to Vance's reality. When JoJo discovers the truth about his reluctant road companion, the trip takes a turn that leads the three of them to truth, love, and the dirty underbelly of the Nashville country music scene. There's nothing like a little s l o w j a m ...

Put "Eddie and the Cruisers", "Boyz n the Hood", and "Napoleon Dynamite" in a blender and you get Slow Jam King. Smooth...

An unlikely trio tries to find themselves as they travel together on a wild road trip to Nashville. Just hold on because you can't predict where they're going or who they'll meet next. Some parts had me ROTFL. The story lines are as diverse as the cast and it all blends together perfectly.

The screenplay is cleverly written and you'll be repeating many of the funny lines from the movie over and over. It's unlike anything I've ever seen before. There's something in it for everyone (and I mean EVERYONE). You won't want the journey to end. So enjoy the ride and take it in like a s l o w j a m
