A rainy night in southern California. Heather is a new counselor at a teen crisis hotline, 1-888-talk-2-us. Jennifer, a college student who may be using drugs and is definitely in crisis, tries to phone her father to ask for money. Cliff, a car salesman, starts a conversation with a stranger in a bar. Robert sees Jennifer shoplifting and thinks of the daughter he recently lost. Alexi, a seasoned counselor, talks to Heather during a power outage. The people circle and connect; communications misfire. Is there a chance of sunshine?
A crisis counselor. A college co-ed. A barstool prophet. A father. They've got one thing in common: they just want to get out of the rain.
