Storyline

One day, Horton the elephant hears a cry from help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home, but this gives him nothing but torment from his neighbors, who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck. Still, Horton stands by the motto that, "After all, a person is a person, no matter how small." Written by Griffin84

Goofs

In order to save the speck of dust, Horton quickly sucks up some water from the pond and swallows it. However, elephants can't drink through their noses. They use them to squirt water into their mouths when they're thirsty. Elephants also can't climb trees, stand upright, hold objects with their front feet, move their ears like hands, or talk. However, Horton is a Dr. Seuss-style elephant from a fictional world, so all these stunts are feasible. See more »

Quotes

Horton: I have to think light. I'm light as a feather. I am light as a feather.
[a feather lands on the bridge and the plank gives way]
Horton: Heavy feather.

Hilarious!!!!
14 March 2008 | by fwgrhouseSee all my reviews

I went and saw this movie with my high school drama group, we had recently done Suessical for a school musical and I played the Mayor of Whoville, and I enjoyed the whole thing from start to finish. The cast of this film did an outstanding job with the voices of the characters, Jim Carrey is most notable in my opinion. Steve Carell also did an amazing job as the Mayor of Whoville. It also has good, clean humor that is both funny and suitable for all ages. I laughed through nearly 90% of the film and I didn't see one thing that would be deemed inappropriate for someone young. This movie lives up to the legacy of the book and I don't care what age you are, you will laugh out loud and enjoy this hilarious Dr. Seuss movie.
