Raise your glass for Pink. The singer just nabbed a role alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in the sex-addiction comedy "Thanks for Sharing."

"Kids Are Alright" screenwriter Stuart Blumberg will make his directorial debut helming the flick and has only the highest praise for the pop star, according to EW.com.

"[Pink] could not be a more ideal fit for this role," Blumberg said. "She carries with her just the right combination of heart and edginess for the part of Dede, and we're incredibly excited to share her acting talent with audiences."

The film also stars "Love and Other Drugs" actor Josh Gad, and Edward Norton is onboard as a producer on the film.

Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, will play a "free-spirited" addict who bonds with Gad's character.

Pink to Make Acting Debut as a Sex Addict

Pink to Make Acting Debut as a Sex Addict
No stranger to performing, Pink is honing her acting chops to star as free-spirited sex addict Dede in Thanks for Sharing. Pink (real name Alicia Moore), 32, did have a cameo in Charlie's Angels Full Throttle in 2003 and another small role in Catacombs in 2007, but this is the singer's first leading role. Spotted filming in New York City's West Village Tuesday, she is set to star alongside such pros as Gwenyth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins. Her character shares a bond with Book of Mormon's Josh Gad, who, as Neil, is another of three characters undergoing 12-step treatment for sex addiction.

Pink Is the New Sex Addict in 'Thanks For Sharing'

The new sex addiction comedy just got some rock cred.

Singer-songwriter Pink has joined the cast of "Thanks For Sharing," writer Stuart Blumberg's follow-up to his acclaimed screenplay for "The Kids Are All Right," according to The Playlist.

Blumberg will also be making his directorial debut with the story of three people who become unlikely friends while undergoing a 12-step treatment for sex addiction.

Pink, who will be going under her real name, Alecia Moore, for the role, joins a cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim Robbins, Joely Richardson, Patrick Fugit, Josh Gad and "The Kids Are All Right" star, Mark Ruffalo. Pink, er, Ms. Moore will be playing the role of Dede, a kindred spirit of Gad's character, a sex addict who cheats his way through several recovery programs.

Surprisingly enough, Pink (we'll just call her that -- it's a cooler name than "Alecia Moore," anyway) doesn't have

Pink to play sex addict opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in 'Thanks For Sharing'

Pink to play sex addict opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in 'Thanks For Sharing'
Pink has bagged a role in a major new independent film entitled "Thanks For Sharing", directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Stuart Blumberg ("The Kids Are All Right"). This represents only the second substantial feature role for the pop singer after the little-seen 2007 horror film "Catacombs", in which she co-starred opposite Shannyn Sossamon. Referred to by her birth name "Alecia Moore" throughout the press release (the only key to her identity as a music star comes from a mention of her "eleven Top Ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and...three Grammy Awards"), the singer/actress will star as Dede, a "kindred spirit"...

Pink Joins Gwyneth Paltrow’s New Sex Addiction Movie

According to Vulture, Pink joins Gwyneth Paltrow’s Thanks For Sharing movie as a mild-mannered middle school teacher who must quietly overcome the death of her elderly mother while touring the cathedrals of Prague. Just kidding, Pink will be playing a “free spirit who bonds with a sex addict,” portrayed by Book of Mormon star Josh Gad. It’s not the steam punk ringmaster or aggressive acrobat Pink has been channeling for years, but it seems like it’s still in her wheelhouse. Plus, let’s not pretend she doesn’t already have the wardrobe for it. Put her in anything she’s worn after Can’t Take Me Home and she’s good to go.

Credited in the 2012 Gwyneth Paltrow-Mark Ruffalo movie by her real name, Alecia Moore, Pink’s latest role is a follow up to her previous memorable work, which according to IMDb is limited to the 2007 horror movie Catacombs,

Pink to star alongside Gwyneth Paltrow. Will she be the next big crossover?

Pink to star alongside Gwyneth Paltrow. Will she be the next big crossover?
While we’ve all definitely heard Pink’s voice in the movies before — be it on the Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack or any number of romcom trailers that feature her hit, “Raise Your Glass” — get ready to see her on the screen soon, too. The pop singer will star in the upcoming sex-addiction comedy Thanks For Sharing, opposite Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, and Book of Mormon’s Josh Gad. “ could not be a more ideal fit for this role,” notes writer/director Stuart Blumberg (The Kids are All Right), in a release. “She carries with her

Pink Joins Gwyneth Paltrow And Mark Ruffalo In Sex Addiction Movie

Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow are starring in an upcoming sex addiction dramedy called Thanks For Sharing. Do you care? No? Okay, Pink's in it. Do you care now? Yeah, thought so. Raise your glasses high! Et cetera.

This is Pink with her kid

Don't stalk Pink's kid

Did you even know Pink had a kid?

Apparently this isn't the three-time Grammy winner's first sojourn into movies- in 2007 she starred opposite Shannyn Sossamyn in something called Catacombs, not that anyone remembers it- but it might be her first under her given name. She's listed as "Alecia Moore" in the credits, and will apparently play a woman who gets friendly with Book Of Mormon's Josh Gad, who plays a sex addict in the movie.

Feelings?

Pink Making Her Acting Debut In Sex Addict Dramedy Thanks For Sharing

Update: As several commenters have pointed out, Pink has acted once before, in the horror movie Catacombs. But this role is being trumpeted as her "first featured role on the big screen," so it will be a much bigger part for the singer. Sorry for the confusion. Pink's music shows up all the time in the movies-- in fact, I think I'll boycott the next trailer to use "Raise Your Glass" on sheer principle. But the multiple Grammy winner has yet to cross over into an acting career, even though it's a pretty common step from music stardom, along with "trip to rehab" and "ill-fated perfume line." Now, 10 years into her hugely successful career, Pink is finally becoming a crossover artist, and re-embracing her real name to do it. I received a press release this morning announcing that Alecia Moore was the latest to be cast in Stuart Blumberg
