Welcome Back Movie Review

  • Bollyspice
You just know if over-the-top ridiculous movies are your kind of thing. If you’re not one of those people, you’ll find justification for your dislike in bits of Welcome Back that just try too hard. But if you are a lover of rapid-fire absurdities, you’ll mostly giggle and chuckle as the plot becomes increasingly convoluted.

Overall, Welcome Back is exactly the kind of ridiculous, zingy stuff you expect from writer-director Anees Bazmee, with the right amount of nods to other films (Bunty Aur Babli, Ram Lakhan and Pk, to name a few), insults (personal favorite “moochwala bean bag”) and physical gags. But the humor isn’t always as smoothly sustained as in the original Welcome, and on occasions, perhaps not unexpectedly, the movie tries reaching too far and goes well past the gleeful “did they really go there?” disbelief into “why did they go there?” disbelief. (I

Guns and Roses set the screen ablaze in Kill Dil

Marking the arrival of an exciting new genre in Indian cinema – the ‘slick flick’ – Yash Raj Films presents the best of Bollywood’s new generation of talent in one of the most compelling and innovative films of the year, Kill Dil, releasing in cinemas on 14th November.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Kill Dil is a glossy action flick with spirited passion at the heart of it. The film is directed by Shaad Ali, who makes an experimental departure from earlier super hits such as Bunty Aur Babli. Super stylised but substance heavy, Kill Dil features Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra essaying their most leftfield roles to date. Making a radical departure from the comedy genre he is famous for, screen veteran Govinda depicts a negative role with equal prowess.

Kill Dil combines action with romance, portrayed through a pulp fiction style of filmmaking that’s sure to be

In Celebration of Shiamak in the Movies!

Shiamak is known as the Guru of Dance, and has choreographed some of the best dance pieces for stage and screen. To celebrate the choreographer’s birthday, we thought we would shine the light on his work in films! He truly has an eye for creating incredible creativity with his choreography on screen and we know you will enjoy watching every one.

‘Dhoom Again’ – Dhoom 2

The huge success of Dhoom 2 helped to solidify Hrithik Roshan’s career and no doubt his remarkable dance performance in the opening song ‘Dhoom Again’ showed him at his finest. Shiamak was of course responsible for the jaw-dropping choreography that can be seen throughout the song. It’s bold, edgy and something which we have never really seen in Bollywood before. Kudos to Shiamak on giving the song a big ‘dhoom!’

From Ramp-to-Road: Aki Narula behind Alia Bhatt’s transformation in Highway

Actress Alia Bhatt is all geared up for the Highway journey, sans premium labels and make-up. Highway is set in six different states and captures the journey of two completely opposite people who are thrown together by fate. Alia had no qualms in donning a contrasting look and readily accepted the transformation, crafted by ace fashion designer Aki Narula.

The designer, who set new trends with the colored kurta in Bunty Aur Babli and got back Nehru caps in Rockstar, has used an interesting approach to design the clothes of the cast. The designer has insistently maintained the margins of realism and reasoning for every outfit used in the film. Many clothes were borrowed from the residents of tiny places like Kalpa and Reckong Peo in Himachal Pradesh, where the film was shot. The actors had absolutely no inhibitions and enthusiastically tried all that was suggested.

The team picked out
