Not really, it turns out.

We tackled plenty more with Woods, including:

The Age of Trump Forces New Ways to Approach Ongoing Narratives

The Age of Trump Forces New Ways to Approach Ongoing Narratives
The Trump era has been a boom time for television. Ratings throughout the 2016 election cycle were strong at the three major cable-news outlets. And CNN and MSNBC continue to garner high viewership when executives had expected to see a post-election drop-off; they have done so by focusing laser-like on political news, in particular political news related to Trump and his administration.

But for slow-cooked documentaries, the Trump ascension and subsequent chaos has forced producers and programmers to re-examine not just particular projects, but in some cases their whole programming strategy.

Last year, Vice News began working on what was meant to be a documentary special about the last six months of President Obama’s administration. But as Donald Trump traveled the country drawing crowds by the thousands, accusing his opponents of high crimes and lowering the bar for acceptable locker room talk, the focus of the film changed.

“All Obama’s group wanted to talk about was

True to form, Saget left the off-color jokes fly. He likened the titles of the shows nominated in the unstructured reality category to his first marriage, noting that the relationship started began as “Deadliest Catch” and wound up leaving him “Naked and Afraid.”

The Voice” earned the award for reality-competition series and “Voice” veteran Blake Shelton won for reality personality. “Voice” producer Mark Burnett also grabbed the win in the structured reality series category for ABC’s “Shark Tank.”

Hard Knocks,” produced by NFL Films, was recognized for unstructured reality series. NFL Films exec Ken Rodgers dedicated the award to the late

Taran Killam Finally Gets His Saturday Night Live Goodbye

Taran Killam Finally Gets His Saturday Night Live Goodbye
Saturday Night Live fans were stunned when Taran Killam, a six-season veteran of the sketch comedy institution, was unceremoniously released from his contract a year early. Where was the big send-off episode, a.k.a. the SNL equivalent of retiring an athlete's number? Where was the acknowledgement of his time on the show? While the show has yet to formally acknowledge his—and Jay Pharoah's—departure from the series (and probably never will, to be honest), Killam has gotten to say goodbye to the series the best way he knew how: Via an adorable spoof of HBO's Hard Knocks. "Saturday Night Live has been a premiere sketch variety show for 41 years running. Comedians across the nation dream of...

IndieWire Pick: “The Night Of” (Series Finale) (8/28)

HBO’s well-received limited series “The Night Of” will wrap up its eight-part whodunnit in late August. Steve Zaillian’s gritty drama, which examines a man’s fate after he wakes up charged with the murder of a relative stranger, debuted to rave reviews from critics and audiences. IndieWire’s Ben Travers writes, “By actively engaging on personal and political levels, Zaillian sucks the viewer into a nightmare scenario wholly dependent on two verdicts: first, whether or not Naz is found guilty, but also if he really did it.” Here’s hoping the series can maintain its slow burn thrills all the way to the end.

How ‘Last Chance U’ Turned Football Into Poetry, With Help From ‘Friday Night Lights’ (And A Ton of Crazy Cameras)
Last Chance U” director Greg Whiteley isn’t offended if you ask him whether he drew inspiration from the seminal NBC series “Friday Night Lights.” In fact, as he told IndieWire, “I’m flattered by the comparison.”

The Netflix docu-series, set in the small college town of Scooba, Mississippi, chronicles a collegiate football program made up entirely of underdogs — players who could go all the way, but for various reasons have come to East Mississippi, in the hopes of returning to Division 1 football.

It’s a very human story, but “Last Chance U” doesn’t lack for excitement. There’s plenty of game day action, captured with some stunning photography using at least seven cameras. As Whiteley explains below,
