Storyline

Pinks - Lose the race, Lose your ride! Using the setting of a classic 1950s drag race, PINKS pits contestants in a best two-out-of-three format, with the loser handing over the title (pink slip) to his or her vehicle. The rules are simple: two vehicles show up and drivers negotiate any head-start distance (vehicle lengths); vehicles line up, the flagman drops the flag and the first one down the quarter mile wins. After each round, the drivers have the opportunity to re-negotiate lengths. Written by Rich Christensen

Love the cars and the racing,......
18 June 2008 | by See all my reviews

Since I love cars and racing, I like this show. It gives great insight into what can be done with an idea. Perhaps a shade arbitrary and heavy handed at times, but all in all an enjoyable experience. I personally would never risk my car without a bit more negotiating power on my side, but, obviously some people seem to think the exposure is worth the risk. When I was young, we all street raced and it was nothing like this. Most of the time, no money or 'pinks' were involved as we were all too broke. In the 70s I drove a 12 second '55 Chevy on the street and I took on all comers, but I can't remember one time that it was for more than bragging rights. That was enough. Still, PINKS will remain at the top of my favorite shows list, but PASS TIME is up there too!
