A small princess in a small kingdom in Adventureland disappears on Christmas eve. She has gone out to find the Christmas Star. The Queen follows and the King curses the Christmas Star, so it disappears for years, until young Sonja arrives.
"Amalies Jul" is made in a true Christmas spirit. It's probably even better than "Jul i skomakergata" and that says a lot! The episodes revolve around "Nisseungen" who has to complete a certain amount of tasks before Christmas to be able to become a "longhatgnome". Alongside this story we follow Amalie and her effort to adapt to new surroundings. The story is told perfectly through the magnificent acting of Pia Borgli, Harald Heide Steen Jr., Brit Elisabeth Haagensli and Anne Marie Ottersen! Although it certainly contains a certain amount of clichés, this production will most definitely appeal to kids and adults all over the world. Great stuff!
