Brendan and Gavin are lifelong friends who feel comfortable with fame and international adoration. Even though they haven't achieved it yet. They're just like any other small town guys - they enjoy playing in a band, reviewing book reviews and busting mad sickness whenever they can. They also have brand new jobs in advertising. Unfortunately their world falls apart after they lose their jobs, a day before their ten-year school reunion - a day they've dreamt about for, well, ten years.Written by
The film was inspired by a series of spots made for MTV as idents to go between music videos. The team behind the project first made them in the hope that MTV would air them at least once, but MTV loved them. They were soon picked up by all the MTV regions in Europe, Canada, South America, Australia and Asia. They even dubbed the spots into German. It wasn't long before they commissioned more spots, and even flew the guys to London to shoot some "Crazy Monkey in the UK". See more »
This is the worst movie ever made anywhere on planet earth. Zero out of ten is flattery. They should allow minus numbers. The two main characters are a Wayne's world lookalike and his sidekick who tries to model his role on Chevy Chase. If you think their acting is bad, it gets worse with the cop who models his role on Jim Carey and fails, miserably. Occasional attempts at American accents. It is quite a difficult accent for South Africans and impossible for any of this cast.
Was there a plot?. I don't think so. The only faint glimmer of humour was the high school address by the head-boy, Idols compère Colin Moss, also acting the role of a Joe Kool Fonzarelli character, which he did OK with. Danny Kaye also sang a song or two and these two guys's personal fan club obviously raised the vote count to what looks like a respectable rating. Waste of time. Waste of money. No laughs.
