The story behind the epic six-week boycott of the Massachusetts-based Market Basket supermarket chain in the summer of 2014: when beloved CEO Arthur T. Demoulas is deposed by his cousin, majority shareholder Arthur S. Demoulas, Market Basket's 25,000 employees and millions of supportive customers successfully enforce a boycott of the 71-store regional chain, leading to a leveraged buyout of the company, the reinstatement of "Artie T.", and a victory for democracy. This was a well crafted movie...but only seemed to tell one-side of the story. Yes, there was something phenomenal happening with the workers, community, "Artie T", etc. all being involved. Loyalty like this is a rarity.
But the "Arthur S" side of the family had some legitimate beefs with the way the company was being run. Let's not forget that Arthur S prevailed in court proving that Artie T screwed his side of the family, and was funneling profits in many ways back to his own family.
This was well done, and surprised me in the production value, and the thoroughness of the filmmaker. My only concern is that it appeared to only tell one side of the story.
