Trivia

The issue with the player with the fake birth certificate really happened. Danny Almonte, originally from the Dominican Republic, playing for a U.S. team from New York City was found to be too old. He was actually fourteen, not twelve, the cut-off age. He had a forged birth certificate. His team had won their regional competition and were eliminated in the semifinals of the Little League World Series but, as a result of the scandal, the entire team was disqualified, had their records erased, and the coach banned for life from Little League baseball. It's actually... good??
8 April 2006 | by Lex_LybrandSee all my reviews

I really did not expect the movie to be very good. Don't get me wrong - I thought I'd like it (I love almost every baseball movie ever made) but I had no idea that the film would actually work on multiple levels.

The movie's short, but that's OK as it gets right to the point and never stops. Some of the humor is a bit childish (far jokes), but they actually balance a lot of it out with other childish jokes that make the earlier ones bearable (back to back fart jokes... I don't want to be more specific because it will spoil it when you see it).

I was very pleased with this film and will probably see it again while it's in theaters. If you're somebody who likes any Adam Sandler branded flick then you'll love this one.
