Adult Swim’s The Shivering Truth is Pure Nightmare Fuel Genius

By now, I think we all realize that the people behind Adult Swim are absolutely bonkers. The utter insanity of some of their shows cannot be denied. Shows like Metalocalypse, The Eric Andre Show, Robot Chicken, and Moral Orel are but a few examples of the twisted sense of humor that the network proudly boasts. First-time ‘SNL’ host Liev Schreiber is possessed by a ghost in latest ‘Saturday Night Live’ promo trailer [Watch]
After a quarter-century in the biz, Liev Schreiber is set to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on November 10. However, based on the latest “SNL” promo, Schreiber won’t be hosting alone because he’s apparently been possessed by a ghost. Watch the “Saturday Night Live” preview trailer above.

In the clip, Schreiber joins cast members Leslie Jones and Mikey Day in a childlike game of jump roping and playful singing. But when it’s Schreiber’s turn to sing, his eyes turn red and smoke rises from his neck as he demonically rasps, “Get out of the house, you vile cretin.” His head spins around several times in a nod to Linda Blair in “The Exorcist,” and then he calmly says, “See you guys at rehearsal.”

Jonny Quest Movie Heats Back Up with Lego Batman Director

The live-action Jonny Quest movie has new life. Warner Bros. has officially tapped The Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay to tackle the adaptation. Dating back to the early 1960s, Jonny Quest has been a recognizable and popular figure in pop culture, but has never made the trip to the big screen. That looks like it's finally set to change, as a promising filmmaker is now in the captain's chair.

According to a new report, Dan Lin, Jonathan Eirich and Adrian Askarieh are set to produce the Jonny Quest movie, with Chris McKay at the helm. Daniel Alter is also on board to executive produce. Previously, Robert Rodriguez, known for the Spy Kids franchise, From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin CIty and the upcoming Alita: Battle Angel, among other things, had been attached, initially boarding the project in 2015. Development unfortunately stalled out under his watch.

Jonny Quest initially debuted as an

Sam Elliott (‘A Star is Born’) on how he reacted when Bradley Cooper stole his voice [Exclusive Video Interview]
Audiences with good hearing have remarked on how similar Bradley Cooper sounds to his co-star Sam Elliott in “A Star is Born,” and according to Elliott, that was by design. When he first met with the actor-director about playing his older brother in the film, Cooper “played a tape for me” showcasing his extensive work with a vocal coach. Elliott thought “it sounded very much like me,” but he wasn’t offended. Quite the opposite, he took it as a good sign. “I thought it kind of increased my chances for being in the film,” he explains. After all, “who else is he going to get when he’s got my voice that he’s working with.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Lucasfilm blocked a Kylo Ren joke in Ralph Breaks the Internet

During an interview with IGN, Ralph Breaks the Internet director Rich Moore has revealed that while Lucasfilm had no issue with the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph sequel “honouring” Star Wars characters with “playful jabs”, cameos and Easter eggs, there was one particular Kylo Ren gag that they put the block on.

“At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child,” said Moore. “We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that. So we were respectful of that.”

The news is perhaps not too surprising, given that it was reported last year that Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy had ruled that “Star Wars and comedy do not co-exist”. Kennedy had reportedly

Ralph Breaks The Internet Removed A Star Wars Joke At Lucasfilm’s Request

The upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet will see the titular hero journeying online, so perhaps it only figures that the film almost made like a disgruntled social media user and took a shot at the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy.

In an interview with IGN, co-director Rich Moore mentioned that the Wreck-It Ralph follow-up was originally going to mock the villainous Kylo Ren from the ongoing space saga, but their friends at Lucasfilm weren’t too keen on the idea.

“At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child. We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, ‘Well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that.’ So we were respectful of that.”

Netflix to Launch Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Interactive Shows With ‘Black Mirror’ Special

  • The Wrap
Netflix is diving deeper into interactive content that will let viewers decide the outcome of some of their favorite Netflix originals, Bloomberg reported on Monday.

The streaming giant plans to release the first of these shows before the end of the year and will also release an interactive episode from the upcoming season of its Emmy-winning science-fiction series “Black Mirror.” The series, which is much like a modern-day “Twilight Zone,” features satirical tales that explore techno-paranoia with stories that tap into the collective unease about the modern world. The fifth season of the show is expected to be released sometime in December.

Interactive content is nothing new to Netflix. The streaming giant has a growing history with the format, which first started last year with the release of “Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale,” a choose-your-own-adventure story for children. The series allowed users to make simple decisions, such

Emmys go gaga for multiple trophy winners Ryan Murphy, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Alex Borstein, RuPaul and …
While the 2018 Emmy Awards did a good job of spreading the wealth this year, there were still multiple nominees who walked away with a handful of trophies. Mega-producer Ryan Murphy won Best Limited Series for “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” as well as Best Directing after four consecutive losses for other programs. But Amy Sherman-Palladino was the biggest winner of the live ceremony, taking home not one, not two, but three Emmys for producing, directing and writing “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” This is on top of her win at the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend for Best Music Supervision. Despite launching multiple critically acclaimed series over the years, these are Sherman-Palladino’s first Emmy wins.

Will ‘Adventure Time’ get a farewell hug at the Emmys just days after its series finale?

  • Gold Derby
The cult hit Cartoon Network series “Adventure Time” ran for a whopping 10 seasons totaling 280 episodes from 2010 up until its series finale episode on Monday. But now it could get a farewell hug from the Emmys just days after its swan song. It’s the front-runner to win Best Short Form Animated Program at the Creative Arts Awards, which will be handed out during two ceremonies held over the weekend.

The series followed the adventures of Finn and his dog Jake in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, and it has already won Best Short Form Animated Program twice, in 2015 and 2017. It’s one of only three shows, along with “Robot Chicken” and “Mickey Mouse” that have won the award multiple times since the category was established in 2008, so a third victory for “Adventure Time” would break that three-way tie.
