Sex & Nudity

  • There are infrequent mild sex references.
  • In one fairly short scene a female character is seen in revealing leggings as she sits in bed.
  • Man and a robot lady kiss.
  • There are some pretty cheesy romantic dialogue between Alita and the male lead.
  • Guy walks wakes up in bed shirtless
  • There is no nudity and there is no sex.
  • It's pretty clean but there's a scene with a woman wearing a black lace corset she got from Frederick's of Hollywood. Then she robes herself.
  • Alita gets a new robot body which is slightly bustier than before and a woman comments, "guess she's older than we thought".

Violence & Gore

  • The violence is mostly against cyborgs with human faces, so the psychological effect of seeing it depends on how much the viewer empathises with them.
  • A man (not robot) is cut into half by a sword. Unexpected, graphic and disturbing though mostly shown in the dark shadows.
  • A man's face was burned by a blowtorch. This was off screen.
  • A character's organs were separated and placed in a case.
  • A robot was punched and her face was seen broken. Later, her body slides off a wall with her head sticking on the same place.
  • Two people were stabbed with a sword.
  • Robots in this movie have green and cyan coloured blood.
  • A huge robot with a human face was cut into half with a sword. You can see his face tearing into two.
  • A decapitated human head is shown but it is very brief and mostly hidden.
  • Guy gets chopped in half, Mortal Kombat style.
  • A man dresses up like Jack the Ripper and kills a woman with a sickle in the middle of the night. It's not really shown on screen
  • Lots of explosive actions, although violent and rough, but still PG-13.
  • One character punches another character in the eye up to the elbow. Very disturbing and intense. Later we see the arm part hanging out of his eye socket and he says he wants to keep it that way
  • A cyborg's arm is cut off with a circular saw and he is seen screaming in pain.
  • A character was sliced into pieces mid-air. Shocking and unexpected.
  • A dog is killed off screen.
  • One of the more graphic parts of the film involves a large cyborg being thrown into a grinder, we hear him scream and attempt to escape before his head is crushed by the machine.

Profanity

  • One F-word spoken by the heroine, as well as moderate terms such as 'prick', and 'bitch', and milder language such as 'crap', 'piss' and 'shit'.
  • Vector mentions serving and ruling in hell and heaven.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There are brief drug references.
  • There are a few moments where characters are drinking alcohol, though it's mostly prominent in a single bar scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Story line content & dialogue may be too convoluted/intertwined for children under 12. Some violent discussions take place in regards to how they are going kill each other.
  • A cyborgs face is cut off, and we see him still talking with just half a tongue and back molars. Fairly disturbing to look at.
  • A person's brain, eyeballs, heart, and possible other organs are shown in a case after being harvested (against their will). The eyeballs move. Very disturbing.
