The further adventures in time and space of the alien adventurer known as the Doctor, a Time Lord/Lady who can change appearance and gender by regenerating when near death, and his/her human companions.
The Doctor, a Time Lord/Lady from the race whose home planet is Gallifrey, travels through time and space in his/her ship the TARDIS (an acronym for Time and Relative Dimension In Space) with numerous companions. From time to time he/she regenerates into a new form (which is how the series has been running since the departure of the original actor, William Hartnell, in 1966).
It was rumored that Sophia Myles, who played Madame de Pompadour in season two, episode four, "The Girl in the Fireplace", would replace Karen Gillan as the new companion in season seven. Steven Moffat denied the rumor, stating that her return in the series as The Doctor's new companion would be inappropriate, and Jenna Coleman was officially announced as the new companion, Clara Oswald. On the 2012 episodes, the title logo is decorated with a motif related to each episode's theme. On episode one, "Asylum of the Daleks", it was decorated with dots like the ones covering a Dalek body. On episode 2, "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" it was decorated in green-like vegetation. On episode 3, "A Town Called Mercy" it was made of wooden boards, like the buildings of the Far West town on the episode. And on episode 4, "The Power of Three", it was decorated with a pattern made of cubes. See more »
I've been watching "New Who" Since 2005 and I have loved every episode! Each story is exciting, fun, clever and generally fantastic! If you are a fan of Science Fiction, Action, Adventure, Drama or in many cases Horror then you will enjoy this show.
One of the reason the show remains fresh after so long on the air is the Doctors ability to regenerate, this is a plot device added when the first Doctor, William Hartnell, was becoming too old for the part and so changes the Doctors appearance and personality allowing the show to change it's entire feel whenever the lead actor leaves and needs replaced.
This show isn't just for children, it's for everyone, I would highly recommend watching this show to anyone as it is one of, if not my favourite show on TV to date.
