Trivia

The film was supposed to be released on November 5th, in time for Guy Fawkes Day. Due to production delays, it was released at the St. Patrick's Day weekend. See more »

Goofs

The original Guy Fawkes (of the gunpowder plot) was depicted dangling while hanging, kicking about until he finally succumbed. In historical reality he was sentenced to be "hanged, drawn, and quartered". He jumped when he was hanged so that he would die instantly to avoid the horrific "quartering" part of the then-usual English punishment for treason. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Evey Hammond: [voiceover] Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot... But what of the man? I know his name was Guy Fawkes and I know, in 1605, he attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. But who was he really? What was he like? I have only one thing to say, AMAZING!!
11 March 2006 | by Nicolaj DahlSee all my reviews

I saw this movie yes today here in Denmark, and i didn't know what to expect, because i haven't heard of the V or read the Comics from publisher DC comics. But was i in for a BIG treat, this movie is so superbly acted by all the actors, especially Natalie Portman performed according to me to an Oscar nomination next year. The movie is perfectly put together, so if you haven't read the comics you will be on the edge of you seat the whole movie. Its really that good folks. And lastly, the visual effects is fantastic, and the action scenes is nothing but spectacular. Watch this movie :-).
