Lore Renewed for a Second Season by Amazon Prime Video

If you enjoyed watching podcast host Aaron Mahnke's stranger-than-fiction historical stories come to life on the first season of Lore, then you'll be pleased to know that Amazon has renewed the anthology series for a second season:

Press Release: Seattle -- Feb. 26, 2018-- (Nasdaq: Amzn)—Amazon announced today it has greenlit a second season of the critically-acclaimed Prime Original series Lore. Season one of the supernatural series, adapted from Aaron Mahnke’s award-winning podcast of the same name, is now available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories. Sean Crouch (The Exorcist, Numb3rs) is taking over showrunner duties for season two.

Amazon Prime Video Announces ‘Lore’ Season 2

Lore season 2 announced

Amazon announced today it has greenlit a second series of the critically-acclaimed Prime Original Series, Lore. Series one of the supernatural show, adapted from Aaron Mahnke’s award-winning podcast of the same name, is now available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories. Sean Crouch (The Exorcist, Numb3rs) is taking over as showrunner for series two.

From Executive Producers Ben Silverman (The Office), Howard T. Owens (Killing Kennedy), Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead), Brett-Patrick Jenkins (Face Off), Jon Halperin and Mark Mannucci (A Year in Space), Lore explores the real-life frightening and disturbing tales that give rise to modern-day myths and legends. Series two will feature new tales from the podcast, as well as original stories not yet available in podcast form, and will star new cast members. The hybrid series will continue to feature narration, archive footage and animation to complement the filmed segments.

Jay R. Ferguson wasn’t out of work long: His ABC comedy The Real O’Neals‘ was cancelled Thursday, and his new CBS sitcom By the Book was ordered to series Friday, TVLine has learned.

Ferguson and David Krumholtz (Numb3rs) will star in the multi-cam series — formerly known as Living Biblically — from Patrick Walsh, The Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki and others.

‘The Lachrymist’ is a Mind-Bending, One-Take Wonder

Short of the DayHang on to your sanity.

Literally, the word “lachrymology” means “the study of crying.” Philosophically, it describes the belief that spiritual advancement is only possible through pain, both of the physical and emotional varieties.

While The Lachrymist from writer-director Matthew Gowan doesn’t confront this philosophy head on, it is certainly an emotional undercurrent of this taut, chilling, deviously confounding tale of psychological terror.

The plot is hauntingly simple: Savitri (Navi Rawat, Numb3rs, The O.C.) checks into a hotel room with her husband Byron (James Harvey Ward, True Blood, Low Winter Sun). Willa Fitzgerald and Dylan Bruno join Behind Enemy Lines TV pilot

With Fox in development on a small screen adaptation of the 2001 action thriller Behind Enemy Lines, Deadline is reporting that Willa Fitzgerald (Scream) and Dylan Bruno (Numb3rs) have signed on to appear in the pilot, which is being directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels) from a script by Nikki Toscano (Revenge).

Behind Enemy Lines is described as a military soap thriller and will adopt a multi-perspective narrative which follows a group of U.S. soldiers trapped behind enemy lines, along with the officers and service men and women on a nearby aircraft carrier and intelligence officers back in Washington as they attempt to bring the heroes home.

Deadline is reporting that Fitzgerald will play Roxanne Daly, a Navy pilot stationed on the USS Tyson, with Bruno as Scott Byrne, the cautious, but firm Commander of the Air Group, who has a lot of pilots under his command.

Alternative ending featurette for Sausage Party

With the adult animated comedy Sausage Party set for its home-entertainment release in the States next weekend, Sony has released a featurette which sees directors Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon discussing an alternative ending to the movie, as well as showcasing some unfinished animation from the sequence.

If you’re unaware, Sausage Party ends with the food discovering that they’re actually cartoon characters, voiced by the likes of Seth Rogen and Edward Norton, and step through a portal to the real world, setting the stage for a sequel. Well, the alternative ending actually sees the gang arriving in the real world, where they watch in horror as Rogen, Norton and Michael Cera sit in a cafe devouring hot dogs. Check it out here…

Ridley Scott, David Zucker Developing Legal Drama at CBS (Exclusive)
CBS is developing a legal drama from Ridley Scott, David Zucker and writer Brett Mahoney, Variety has learned exclusively.

Titled “Mrs. V. Mr.,” the project follows a prominent, larger-than-life L.A. defense attorney and the chief prosecutor for the Da’s office who are constantly at odds in the courtroom, but are a happily married couple who have to leave their rivalries at the door when it comes to raising their three willful kids.

Mahoney, an exec producer on CBS’s “MacGyver” and “Code Black,” will pen the pilot script and serve as an exec producer with Scott and Zucker, who are producing via their Scott Free Productions. CBS Television Studios is also producing.

“Mrs. V. Mr.” is the latest CBS project from Scott Free Prods., which was behind David Zabel’s medical drama “Sensory,” which was ordered to pilot last year for the 2016-2017 cycle, but then was rolled from last season. Insiders
