New ‘Skyscraper’ Trailer Further Reveals Story & Action

Universal Pictures has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Dwayne Johnson action film, ‘Skyscraper‘. Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the film stars Johnson as a former FBI man who now assesses the security of high tech skyscrapers. Of course, things go wrong, and the rock has to flex his muscles to fix the situation. All joking aside, ‘Skyscraper’ is in essence a combination of the plot of ‘The Towering Inferno‘ mixed with the tone and characters of ‘Die Hard‘.

It’s a fun premise, but I’m not sure if these trailers so far completely nail the tone for me. The film seems to be a little too self-aware for my taste, not only in it’s similarities between the aforementioned films, but also the overall cheeky nature of the phone. With that said, I would like to highlight that the all-too underutilized Neve Campbell looks to have

No guts no glory Oscar predictions: Go ahead & laugh at me for picking ‘Wonder Woman,’ ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Valerian,’ and …
I tend to be a fairly conservative Oscar pundit. I don’t go out on many limbs or rely on gut instinct. I try to do the math as objectively as possible based on the most reliable awards season precursors, which is why my predictions accuracy is 100% every year — trust me, no need to fact-check that. But occasionally I will still follow a hunch or two — or five. The following are my top seven biggest hunches that, according to our racetrack odds, I’m completely wrong about.

Woody Harrelson (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”), Best Supporting Actor — The controversial film has been surging, most recently winning top honors at the SAG Awards. Harrelson didn’t make many appearances on the awards scene for this performance early on, but he got in where it counts: at SAG and the BAFTAs. Those awards are bestowed by the same kinds of industry professionals who voted on the Oscars,

‘Roman J. Israel, Esq’ Trailer: Denzel Washington Lawyers Up

Three years ago we were treated to screenwriter Dan Gilroy‘s (“Real Steel,” “The Bourne Legacy,” “Kong: Skull Island“) directorial debut in the flawed but thoroughly chilling “Nightcrawler.” That film scored a writing nomination at the Academy Awards and got Jake Gyllenhaal nominated for a Best Actor Golden Globe. Gilroy returns to the director’s chair this year with “Roman J.

Uncharted Movie Wants Bryan Cranston

  • MovieWeb
Sony has been trying for years to get the Uncharted movie off the ground, but they have a solid team in place right now. Shawn Levy (Real Steel) has been tapped to direct and, earlier this year, it was revealed that Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland is going to play a young version of Nathan Drake. Now, it sounds like Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is circling the long-awaited video game adaptation in an unspecified role.

The news comes courtesy of That Hashtag Show, who report that Sony is currently pursuing Bryan Cranston for a "large supporting role" in the Uncharted movie. While there's no word on who Cranston is going to play, it is possible he could be playing Victor Sullivan. The age gap between Cranson and Tom Holland could make that tricky, but there's no arguing that he would probably kill the role. That Hashtag Show also notes

This horror slash comedy flick stars Evangeline Lilly, of Lost and Real Steel fame, and Adam Scott, popular from Parks and Recreation and Step Brothers. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Evangeline Lilly Is Marvel's Unsung Female Co-Lead

With all of the hype and excitement over Marvel's first female-led superhero film, Captain Marvel, it might be easy to overlook the fact that Carol Danvers isn't the only female headliner in the McU. Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), daughter of uber-scientist Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and partner to rehabilitated criminal Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), is the Wasp -- a crucially-important Marvel character who was a founding member of the Avengers (in the comics, of course).

Director Peyton Reed's upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp is a pure team-up movie, and while it's obviously not led by Van Dyne, she's clearly the co-lead in this film -- it's really unfortunate that this isn't getting more coverage. Lilly has carved out a really interesting career since her breakout role in ABC's Lost TV series; she's appeared in The Hurt Locker (2008), Real Steel (2011), and two of the Hobbit films -- in each

Tom Holland Is Fancasting Chris Pratt In HIs Own 'Uncharted'

Uncharted the video game is about the treasure-hunting adventures of Nathan Drake, a man in his 30s, and Sully, his grey-haired mentor. Uncharted the movie, however, is going to be about a much younger Nathan Drake, who we recently learned will be played by Tom Holland. And apparently the switch was Holland's idea. Movie studios love to cultivate ongoing relationships with their big stars. Holland is anchoring Spider-Man: Homecoming for Sony, who owns Uncharted. Naturally studio head Tom Rothman asked Holland about what else they could work on. That's when Holland, who would have been a young teen when the first Uncharted came out, pitched them the young Nathan Drake idea that director Shawn Levy (Real Steel) is now moving forward with. That's not the only idea...
