Joy is a young girl looking for friendship. She thinks to find friends in Roos and Chantal. When Roos and Chantal don't show up at Joy's friendship party, Joy is furious and she thinks out a plan to force her 'so called friends' into a long life friendship: they will make a joy ride to a model competition in Nice and on their way Joy will ensure their friendship with the killing of an innocent passenger.Written by
A young and wild independent film from the Netherlands.
A young and wild independent film from the Netherlands. It's been a long time but here's one ready to roll! Joyride has everything an audience demands: love, sex, violence, humor, suspense, a rock 'n' roll soundtrack and that's not all. It's a film made by young filmmakers with a young cast, intended for a young audience (or, at least, for anyone who's young at heart).
When her friends (Chantal and Rose) boycott her party, eccentric goth-girl Joy vows revenge. Familiar with the legend of Troisvierges - a village in Provence where, in the middle ages, three maids ritualistically murdered their helpless male captive - Joy sets out to recreate the legend using Chantal and Rose as unwitting participants.
To this end, she proposes a joyride. Promising to arrange a car, she turns up in a cherry red convertible and the girls hit the road. As the plot thickens, it turns out that not only is the car stolen but its owner, Tim, is locked in the trunk.
Their joyride to the south of France - wherein the three gorgeous girls torment their toy-boy hostage - begins as a game and turns into a reckless adventure with sex and violence to spare.
