Feature Juliette Harrisson 8 Aug 2013 - 07:00
In her penultimate Farscape look-back, Juliette revisits two-part mini series, The Peacekeeper Wars...
This feature contains Farscape spoilers.
When Farscape was cancelled shortly before filming completed on season four in 2003, writers David Prowse and creator Rockne O’Bannon and director Andrew Prowse had a decision to make. Thinking they would get a fifth season, they’d ended season four on a cliff-hanger; should they do a quick re-write, or air the episode as written and let it stand as the show’s abbreviated finale? They decided not only to continue with the episode as originally conceived, but to end the show on the words, ‘To Be Continued…’
Unsurprisingly, fan reaction to the show’s cancellation, particularly in light of the cliff-hanger ending, was not positive. Following an enthusiastic fan campaign, the Sci-Fi channel commissioned a two-part mini-series to resolve the cliff-hanger and give Farscape...

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.

Two new parodies open in theaters this weekend on Friday, May 21… MacGruber and Shrek Forever After. Just as these two films are very different from each other, as are movie parodies, ranging in style and format, poking fun at anything and everything. In keeping with this week’s box office theme, We Are Movie Geeks has formulated our own list of the ten best parody movies. The films we’ve selected broadly encompass the widely varying genre of parodies, and while we certainly left out some good ones, it gives an idea of what we think of as being the exemplary examples.
Honorable Mention: Uhf (1989)
I’ll admit, Weird Al Yankovic’s parody of public access television is not everyone’s cup-o-tea, but for truly devoted Movies Geeks, this is a modern classic of ridiculous comedy. Yankovic has already established himself as an international music star, which is saying a...
